95th Anniversary of Andrey Chaprazov

“Nadezhda 1871” Community Centre in Oriahovo held an event in “Prof. Marin Varbanov” Art Gallery on 16 February in commemoration of the 95th anniversary of Andrey Chaprazov.

For the purpose an exhibition was displayed with photos of the actor’s professional career.


The young members of the Community Centre Budina Tihomirova and Iliyan Vassilenov read excerpts from Andrey Chaprazov autobiographical book “ Stage and Life”. The attendants of the event heard a recording of the actor’s performance of the poem “The Bulgarian Language” by Ivan Vazov (the actor’s favorite).


The hosts of the evening, Community Centre members Mariela Lichkova and Ognyan Slavov spoke about the life and career of Andrey Chaprazov, who was born on 16 February, 1920 in the town of Oriahovo.  In 1939 the latter finishes  the high school in Oriahovo, which was the centre of the town’s cultural activity. Alongside his studies he took an active part in the activities performed by the Community Centre. Having played in  over 60 theatre productions and 30 movies, in 1998 he receives an award for a life achievement by the Union of Bulgarian Actors.
The evening ended with the presentation of the film “Forest People” (1985) in which Andrey Chaprazov participates.
